Enjoy getting creative this June – no previous experience or special skills are needed – just come along to the studio to try something new!
June is traditionally a relaxed month at Chessell, falling between the busy times of May half-term and the Summer holidays. This year the studio staff have come up with some new and interesting projects for you to try .
Each week we will feature one pottery shape, and show you four different ways to decorate it.
10th-15th June features the popular Chessell-made House Plaque. During the week 17th-22nd June we are showcasing a new shape – a Flower vase from Emma Bridgewater potteries. Finally in the week before our Strawberry Fair, 24th-27th June, we will offer our Chessell Flower pot – another new shape, this time made in our own studio.
Throughout the month, we will have samples and instruction sheets available to help you to create one of the stunning designs. It’s an opportunity to try out some new techniques, such as stencilling, sgraffito, or masking, aswell as using our decorating sponges in extra imaginative ways. We’ve had a great time thinking up all the ideas and putting together the help-sheets – we hope that our customers have just as much fun using them !
As an added bonus, there will be no studio fee for the featured item of the week – you simply pay the cost of the pottery. There’s no need to book, simply arrive at the studio and get started. And of course, the cafe is close by for coffee, cake or lunch.
